Monica L. Johnson, Associate

Monica L. Johnson, a native of Rexton, New Brunswick, has eight years of experience practicing law and is a skilled litigator, experienced in complex criminal and civil matters.

Monica also practices in the areas of family law, real estate, corporate commercial and has experience in litigation in employment law and contract law. With a focus on family law, Monica has attended the National Family Law Program in Victoria in 2010.

She offers legal services in French and English.

Monica was previously Counsel for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada where she conducted criminal prosecutions enforcing federal statutes in both official languages before all levels of the courts, acquiring considerable knowledge in court procedure, trial advocacy and rules of evidence. Monica has provided legal advice to federal and provincial investigational units and various detachments of the RCMP.

In the community, Monica is currently the Chair of the Elder Law section of the Canadian Bar Association, NB Division.  She has previously acted as the President of Crossroads for Women Inc., a shelter for women and children victims of family violence and former VP of Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc., where she advocated the stakeholders' interests before the federal, provincial and municipal governments.

Monica is a member of the Board of Directors of Enterprise Greater Moncton.
